The town's reservoir is on the edge of a State park, offering free camping with toilets, fireplaces and levelled areas.

There is extensive bushwalking, hiking, riding among huge rivergums and natural bush. On a quiet walk you will see plenty of kangaroos and several different types of wallaby, plus a range of parrots, kookaburra and colourful small birdlife feasting around the water and the upper catchment. Old Malcolm's Inn often has new, fluffy arrivals, wandering around the garden beds.
